Time marches on, but don’t we all march to our own tune?  A week ago I took it upon myself to march on to a different tune by leaving my temporary corporate zone to move forward to a new world of ?????  As of this writing, I am still filling in the blank.  Coming to the end of mercury retrograde**, a perfect time for re-invention and re-grouping, you may have to wait until the next newsletter to see what I have created for myself.  Brave or foolish?  I like to think it was hugely courageous.  In reality, it was just the right time. Time to make different choices.  We all have stress, but this was extreme stress for my body, mind and spirit.  I even felt inspired to include something on stress in this newsletter.  I even felt inspired – if that is the right word – to have extra chiropractic adjustments, massages and long lavender-scented baths.  And I am beginning to experience some joy and balance again, enjoying birdsong, finding humor in the little quirky things, even my voice

does not sound so stressed. Thank you Angels, Guides and Friends for helping me through this period. Thank you Spirit!
Thank you Spirit for the excitement of Spring, for showering me with renewed enthusiasm and joy, for giving me new visions, new experiences, new friends and new energy.
Speaking of new, let me know what you think of the latest newsletter contents and format.  Feel the spark of newness in the air, let it create new adventures for you too.

To help you achieve this goal, this template offers suggestions that you can also find in the article in the Task Pane titled “Creating a Newsletter.” As an added help, before you begin replacing this content with your own, you may want to print this template to have the benefit of its instructions. Inside This Issue lists articles designed to help you write an effective newsletter.

When you create a newsletter, first determine the audience. This could be anyone who might benefit from it, such as those interested in a product.

You might consider purchasing a mailing list from a company that serves your target customer.

Next, establish how much time and money you can spend on your newsletter. These factors help determine the length of your newsletter and how frequently you will publish it.

We all have stress. Yes, in fact, we become inundated with ideas on how to get rid of stress, how to beat stress, how to manage stress. But stress is like layers of thick gooey jello and in the end you become paralyzed, you feel immobilized, the body breaks down, you are fatigued, and all sorts of problems can occur.  I think it’s called chronic stress.  I called it extreme stress, above and beyond my usual level of anxiety.  Over the past three months I watched myself get stuck in the corporate mixmaster.  Of course, I was deep

breathing and sighing.  Of course, I was taking the long way around at breaks. Of course, I was doing Reiki on myself. (Surely you did not have to question that one.)  Of course, I was limiting other activities so I would be fresh for my workday. What I was not doing was feel comfortable or confident in myself, so it made sense and was no surprise to my friends when I announced “I quit.” The surprise may be that when I resigned I did not have another job to go to.  So as I write this I am inbetween assignments and since God is my employer, I can wait til next week or

My next question was how does Reiki work when giving a massage. When Pam Jones begins the session, she “tunes in” to the client usually at the head, sometimes at the feet. Pam told me that “Sometimes she can ‘download’ information about what this person needs. Usually it is relaxing to the client and they can let go of their stress or bring the stress level way down. This facilitates the muscle relaxation and makes the massage techniques much more pleasant for the client and easier work for me the practitioner. I also see that they are able to breathe much deeper during the session which helps with the circulation and many more things. I

Now I feel empowered and confident to make changes. Those projects that were on the back burner can now demand attention and get checked off.  Things like a Reiki II Review, Reiki and Crystals workshop, Dowsing and Crystals, Introduction to Sound Energy. So stay tuned for details. This is the time for manifesting goals.  Resuming the Reiki share group makes me feel good. We will be looking at the Japanese Reiki Techniques, which are described in William Rand’s manual.  Even putting this newsletter together can

now be checked off.

Remember the Mikado, I too have a “little list.”  So it is on to more adventures.

If you are interested in any of the Reiki or dowsing workshops, please let me know.

Stay tuned for details on upcoming events.

important to feel secure and trust the outcome. When have I not been supported? Never. I have never starved. When have I done things I wanted to do? I’ve always done it my way. However, this time I am envisioning a more open heart. This time I am more committed. This time I will not go to the world of imbalance and low energy. This time I embrace confidence and higher self-esteem.  I am willing to be more observant and less judgmental, more joyful and less stressed. I am willing to be your friend and less lonely. How about you?

“You can transform your life and business in just seven minutes a day.” If that statement makes you want to read on, consider yourself hooked.

A newsletter is competing against a lot of distractions for the reader’s attention, so it’s important that the first one or two sentences of an article hook the reader. And since that hook creates an expectation, the article needs to justify the use of the hook, or the reader will feel manipulated.

Along with the hook, the article needs a headline that is brief, active, and clear in its purpose. Beyond these essential characteristics, a headline attracts attention if it is highly relevant, inspires curiosity, or has some other irresistible quality.

Newsletters are short on space and their readers are short on time, so the articles must be well focused, aiming to make one major point. The making of this point can be achieved through two to five (or so) sub-p

as their primary aim the benefit of the reader, who should be able to point out this benefit. It can be new knowledge or insight, an idea about how to improve business, or better, how your business can improve the reader. And the best response of all, of course, is that the reader decides that your products or services provide the solutions he or she needs.

To sum it up, grab the reader’s attention through an effective headline and hook, and then reward the reader for following through by giving something the reader didn’t have before. In addition, keep the article brief and well focused, and if appropriate, demonstrate how your products and services address the issues raised in the article. By doing so, you stand a good chance of keeping the readers you have and gaining new readers with every issue.

the following week for my next assignment. Not only was it time to talk the talk and walk the walk, it was time to make some choices about what I want to be doing.  Taking the words of Alex Shaw, “we are masterpieces of God” to heart, I realized again that we are participants in our creation/reality.  Along with this decision, I accepted the assistance of teachers and healers to support me in this next step. Walking away from a stressful situation is not for everybody. It is

it appears that way....because astrologers give Mercury “rulership” over the sphere of life that includes commerce, trade, transportation, and communication, its influence is said to lead to setbacks and misunderstandings that affect virtually everyone. Astrologers traditionally counsel their clients to handle both business and personal affairs with caution during Mercury retrograde.                                                    From the book MERCURY RETROGRADE by Pythia Peay

newsletter, and then by measuring how many column inches are available for the article, you can tell the writer how many words an article can have.  Let’s take this scenario one step at a time.

1.      Fill up at least 10 inches of column with actual article text, then print the page and use a ruler to measure how many inches of column your text takes up.

2.      Count the number of words in the text.

3.      Divide the number of words in the article by the number of inches the text takes up. For example, let’s say you have 456 words in 12 inches of column: 456 ÷ 12 = 38. That’s your magic number for how many words fit in an inch of column in your newsletter. But you’re not finished yet.

4.      Measure how many column inches you have available for the article. For example, we’ll say it’s 7 inches.

5.      Multiply your magic number by the number of column inches available for the article, which in this case would be: 38 x 7 = 266. This is the maximum length that the article can be.

6.      To give yourself some room for error, tell the writer to write an article between 250 and 260 words. Once you get the article back and edit it, you can add or remove words here and there to get the article to the right length.

Over time, you’ll get used to this practice, and it won’t be long before you become a pro at writing and editing articles that are not only helpful to your readers, but perfect in length as well.

Reiki and Massage from page 4

Reiki, the individual cells of the blood, the tissue, the oxygen, the water molecules, etc. of the client then also begin to vibrate with Reiki energy. This may increase the chance of detoxing after a massage and suggest an increase in water for the next several days. I have found with Reiki and massage, the integration time of the body work is increased. Clients of mine are informed to allow themselves anywhere from 2-4 days for the complete integration time of the massage to take place. This may mean detoxing, or needing more water, or purging of old thoughts, a good cry, a great giggle, however it shows up for them, to take care of themselves beyond the hour of 90 minutes they spent with me.”
